Yahoo! recently launched Yahoo! Messenger version 9.0. This version of Yahoo! Messenger is compatible with Windows Vista. It is bundled with the following features.
- Pingbox™ - This is a similar to Google Talk Gadget. Using this service Yahoo! Messanger can be added to any webpage and visitors can IM you anonymously (or they can identify themselves) right from the webpage.
- New skins – Silver, Ruby Red and Mystic Black themes.
- Return of the original emoticons - The smaller emotion icons are back.
- Inline video & picture viewer – If anyone sends you a link to a online images or video then you can see the preview in the IM window itself.
- New emoticons – Six new emoticons : thumbs up, thumbs down, “It wasn’t me!”, hurry up, rock on!, and “Don’t want to see!!”.
- Import Contacts wizard - Import contact from more than twenty online services including Gmail, AOL, Hotmail, Orkut.
- Call forwarding & new voicemail delivery – You can forward incoming calls the mobile or regular phone (Phone Out account required). New voicemails are delivered as MP3 attachments to the email address you specify.
- Yahoo! Games are back - Click the “Activities” button in the IM window to choose a game to play.
