You might know that iPhone is going to be launched in India on 22nd Aug, 2008. Airtel and Vodafone both are launching it.
According to Indiatimes 8GB iPhone may cost Rs. 31,000 and 16GB may cost Rs. 36,000-37,000. This price doesn’t include plan rental.
Apple and AT&T is selling 8GB iPhone 3G for $199 and 16GB for $299 which is around Rs. 8500 and Rs. 12,500 respectively. The price difference is huge and I doubt iPhone will be a big hit in India at this price.
I am a big fan of Apple and iPhone but I will have to think about buying iPhone at this price.
